Here comes the Lunar eclipse in Capricorn, the second of four lunar eclipses of 2009, meaning a Full Moon when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon. When the mass of the Earth blocks the rays of the Sun for a time, from hitting the Moon.
This a penumbral lunar eclipse, which occurs when the Moon passes through the Earth’s penumbra.
Eclipses in Astrology have always been feared and are in general what we may call a difficult time, when negative things happen. But it all depends how we interpret it or experience it.
The truth is that what we call negative times are highly charged emotional situations when we can’t control our emotions nor our dark side from manifesting. Something or somebody triggers our most hidden emotions and we find ourselves confronting a side to our personality that we prefer to ignore.
This Eclipsed Full Moon falls in the signs of Cancer (the Sun) and Capricorn (the Moon) and it should put in evidence these signs shadow side. It also affects the other two cardinal signs: Libra and Aries.
In the case of Cancer, its shadowy side is the fear to expose their vulnerability and insecurity, as well as the need to play mother and healer to most of their relationships , which manifests in their need for material comfort and their emotional detachment.
Although Cancer has the ability to actually look after and care for people like no one else, in their shadowy side, they sometimes victimize and exhaust themselves in the process.
Capricorn’s shadowy side has to do with their need to have their life and everything around them under their control. This is also Ok, unless you begin to think that you can indeed control it all. As it is for example the attitude that money con buy it all. Capricorn can also victimize themselves when they see that no matter how much they do, they still can’t get everyone to do what they want and how they want it. And although Capricorns are natural born organizers, hard workers, reliable and dependable, they can get really frustrated and angry when things get out of control. Of course, at one time or another, things do get out of control, and some of those times are around eclipses.
One thing we must keep in mind, is that the shadowy side is always the one we refuse to deal with, if we are conscious of it and work on it by finding ways of expressing it which are not destructive, then it is not a shadow anymore.
Situations between people born in these signs will ensue, sometimes by pure coincidence or by events which seem to be out of their control.
This eclipse links with Saturn, its ruler, since the Moon is in Capricorn in a very good and positive aspects, so there is the feeling that through hard work and perseverance anything can be achieved. There is an inner certainty that with patience and determination we can get to where we want to go. Mars makes a challenging aspect to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction and we must be careful not to try to cut corners and use methods that we might regret later on. If we use this energy positively, we can definitely solve many problems.
